To protect my contact form from spam and abusive automated use, I use Google reCAPTCHA. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

reCAPTCHA analyzes user behavior based on various indicators to distinguish between human users and bots. In this context, the following data are transmitted to Google, among others:

IP address
Length of stay on the website
Mouse movements and interactions
Browser and device information

Legal basis: The activation of Google reCAPTCHA is based on your explicit consent pursuant to Art. 6(1) lit. a GDPR and § 25(1) TTDSG. You can revoke this consent at any time, with effect for the future, via the cookie settings.

Transfer to third countries: Google processes your data, inter alia, in the United States. The transfer is based on the standard contractual clauses (SCC) approved by the European Commission pursuant to Art. 46(2) lit. c GDPR. e) Matomo (web analytics)

This website uses Matomo, an open‑source software for the statistical evaluation of visitor traffic. Matomo is hosted on my own server—no data are shared with third parties.

Anonymized IP address (the last two octets are masked, e.g., 192.168.xxx.xxx)
Pages and subpages visited
Time spent on the pages
Referral source (e.g., search engine or direct visit)
Browser and operating system used (without individual identification)
Approximate location (based on the anonymized IP, up to city level)

No cookies are used. Individual persons cannot and are not intended to be identified.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1) lit. f GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in the statistical analysis of user behavior to improve my website. Since no cookies are set, no personal data are stored, and no data are shared with third parties, my interests outweigh the legitimate interests of the visitors.

Storage period: Raw data (individual visit recordings) are automatically deleted after 90 days. Aggregated statistics (reports without reference to individuals) are stored for up to 12 months.
